building owners and managers

Many building owners and management companies have opened their doors (as well as basements and riser closets) to a new class of communications providers referred to as Building Local Exchange Carriers (BLECs). BLECs typically install simple broadband data and voice solutions that allow for rapid deployment over a large number of tenants in exchange for a suite short-term gains for right-of-entry agreements, including revenue-sharing agreements, stock options, and lucrative flat-fee payouts. What BLECs don´t advertise is that the proprietary nature of BLEC infrastructure results in owners and managers having little control over what carrier traffic rides over the wires within their buildings. As the BLECs pile up in a building, demand on the riser is increased, building/tenant shared advantage is reduced and costs associated with multiple infrastructures results in reduced revenue stream to the building owner.

onShore´s Multi-tenant Data Network (MDN) solution places control of a building´s infrastructure in the hands (and bank account) of the owners. An MDN, running on a multi-gigabit backplane, is a distributed, digital framework that allows for multiple vendors of IP-based services, including voice, data and video, to share the pipe from the building Vendor Corridor all the way to the tenant´s home. The MDN is a standards-based marketplace, encouraging competition for both the procurement and delivery of IP-based services.

onShore´s MDN solution benefits:
· Building owner has option to own or co-own the MDN
· Infrastructure sharing results in lowered costs and more choices
· Robust, scalable infrastructure has longevity
· Reduced riser demand
· Increased equity in the building
· Simplified management of multiple vendors within a property
· A single point of administration
· Streamlined building management via an automated, web-based trouble ticket system hosted on the MDN
· Delivery of new services as soon as they become available, not after lengthy procurement or installation times
· Access to more service choices, more often and more quickly for your tenants
· Distinguishes your property as first-class, high-tech and future-proof
· Positions the building owner as the provider of the "new utility"
