Overview

onShore first began addressing the security needs of our clients a decade ago—long before connecting private networks to public networks such as the Internet became common practice. Our widespread experience has developed into rigorous security analysis, design and implementation methodologies as well as a strong knowledge of most major security products on the market. onShore security systems currently protect clients in many sensitive industries, including financial services and health care organizations.

Though the requirements are often simple and clear, securing your network is never a one-time effort. onShore-designed security recognizes that network protection demands a never-ending process, with policy and practices a higher priority than the placement of hardware and software. Under the umbrella of security are actually a wide variety of security concerns, including internal network access, external network access, host security, monitoring, intrusion detection, and virus detection—each of which is handled by onShore’s standardized cyclical process of review, recommendation, implementation, and maintenance.

Security Process

Part of onShore’s onGuard services, an initial security review can range from a simple analysis of practices and network services to a complete documentation of procedures and policies as well as a thorough investigation of each network component. The results of our review, in combination with client business requirements, guide onShore’s security team toward recommendations. Depending on the needs of the client, recommendations might be as simple as a strategy for managing passwords or as stringent as a lockdown of hosts and placement of a firewall and IPS/IDS Sensor. Whatever the recommendations, onShore’s implementation will be completed in phases, with new procedures and policies put into place before any system changes are introduced. Once the implementation is complete, the ongoing maintenance of the system under onShore’s onGuard service will monitor for the effectiveness of the system and ensure that the new security procedures and policies are enforced.

onShore’s security team will meet directly with you to answer questions and direct you to resources to help your IT staff develop a plan to address network security.

onGuard Security Review

An experienced team of onShore security technicians will determine the level of review and documentation needed. Deliverables from this review include specific recommendations from both technical and business requirement perspectives.
