onShore selected Debian GNU/Linux as its Linux distribution of choice. onShore has been deploying Linux solutions since 1994! onShore was a pioneer in 1994 by delivering to our customers a choice when it came to installing new server solutions. onShore was building Linux servers which offered access to a variety of workstations. Our servers were serving up files for Apple Macintosh, Windows and other Unix-based machines back when Apple and Microsoft server solutions were unable to offer that functionality!
Debian GNU/Linux Linux solutions, built and managed by onShore, have provided our clients with the logical alternative to high-priced, often unreliable Operating Systems. Linux offers high reliability, remote administration and cost effective server solutions for business.
In the past couple of years our dedication to the Linux platform has been rewarded by the adoption of the OS by companies such as IBM, Apple and Hewlett Packard, to name a few. This acceptance by global companies has proven beyond a doubt that Linux provides a valuable alternative Operating System, which onShore, now more than ever, continues to recommend and deploy for our clients.
onShore has also played an important role in defining the Debian GNU/Linux identity. In 1999, onShore entered and won the Debian GNU/Linux logo contest! Thats right we designed the Debian GNU/Linux logo. onShore also contributed to and maintained certain portions of the Debian GNU/Linux code.
